COLLECTIVE CALM: Winter Series
Wellbeing sessions for Therapists, Frontline workers, Mental Health Clinicians, Support workers + Allied Health.
A space to tend to our nervous systems, connect with our reflective art making practice and develop peer-supported relationships that give meaning, and create the capacity to learn with each other.
In order to uphold our capacity to support others, we need to engage in self-inquiry, and be pouring back into ourselves. Nina Simons (2019), suggests that the possibilities of understanding and advancing our learning opens when practitioners knit together through sharing vulnerability in webs of relational caring and empathic connection.
These 2 hour sessions offer a space for participants to be guided through somatic practices that include breath work, meditation, visualisation, grounding, yin yoga inspired practices and sensation awareness.
The intention is to tend our nervous systems and safely be with the body and breath, releasing tension and restlessness. As this is a workshop shared with peers the practice will be simple and contained, individuals can be referred to private somatic practitioners if they wish to go deeper outside of the space. The movement practice will be trauma informed and respectful of cultural practices, as well as suitable for all levels of experience, and can be adjusted as required, with options provided for each shape.
Following the somatic practice, participants will be invited to have a cup of tea and engage in reflective art making and group discussion. The aim is to make space for intentional moments to playfully explore, relax, and to fuel our passion through creativity and connection.
- A variety of art materials, yoga props and tea will be provided.
- Bookings are essential as spaces are limited, discounts are available for podcast members.
- Please note the studio is stair access only and bathrooms are gender neutral.
- For any other requirements or enquiries please email Kirsty: greenemoonstudios@gmail.com
(ANZACATA’s guidelines for CPD state that 2 hours of peer supervision can be logged as 1 hour of supervision).

The Every Movement, The Every Sound - Australia 2019
All are welcome to join a 2hr Sunday evening event, with Aarti Jadu & Kirsty Greene.
Sunday, Feb 10th event we invite local ambient synth & virtuosic bass player Matthew Hayes to hold space with Aarti Jadu's vocals, after which together we will immerse ourselves in chanting for the rest of the session. Throughout the evening Kirsty Greene will lead a gentle Yin practice; guiding you into an enjoyable deep stretch & then allowing space for you to feel immersed & bathed in the live music.
Considering the voice as a muscle in our body & mind, the evening will also include a gentle introduction & practice to cultivate sound before & after the practice.
Aarti Jadu maintains a deep passion for devotional music & advocates group singing as a way to experience knowledge much like the practice of yoga asana.
In recent years Aarti has used the exploration of improvised vocal sounding & sincere expression as live music for yoga with intention of enriching the asana practice & that of her own.
It is Aarti and Kirsty's intention to bring appreciation to voice & its potential to enhance one's practice in sound.

The Every Movement, The Every Sound - Australia 2018
A concept created to facilitate sound exploration throughout body movements and asanas. In this case, together we will create sound and observe the release, the depth and the freedom of using our voices.
This is about feeling it's vibration and metaphorically connecting to the idea of "every"... beyond and inside our skin.
When we use a metaphor, we say it "is". Similarly, the intention here will become. Which really is just to move from one state to another. Our choice!
It's ok if you're scared of singing! This is about sounding. It's ok if you're scared of stretching. This is about feeling.
We are just a bunch of be-ings. So let's dance in space together this afternoon is quite appropriately hosted at Dance of life yoga studio.
The Sunday afternoon will contain in-depth explanations of sound by Aarti Jadu, lead singing sequences to open up and express and gentle stretching by Kirsty Greene to facilitate full breaths and body strength to hold the body confidently in order to sing.
Beginners encouraged!! $30pp

Introduction to Yin Yoga Workshop - Argentina 2018
A Yin yoga class usually includes of a series of long-held, passive floor poses where Yogis are invited to relax into the posture, soften the muscles & observe the physical, mental & emotional reactions to the lengthening of the tissues.
Kirsty Greene invites you to join a very special 2.5hr workshop, where we yogis will receive a mini introduction to Yin Yoga. A regular Yin Yoga class is not nearly long enough to share the big picture of Yin Yoga, therefore Kirsty has designed a two-part workshop for Yogis to deepen their understanding. The initial component of the workshop will include an hour of learning the history, theology, purpose & principles of Yin Yoga with plenty of room for discussion, Yogis are encouraged to feel comfortable asking questions during this section. Following this Yogis will then put their newfound knowledge and resources into practice throughout a 90min guided Yin Yoga Sequence.
All levels of Yogis are welcome.

Candle lit Yin with hands-on adjustments - Australia 2017
If you missed out when Kirsty and Steven ran this Event in June and it Sold Out - now is your chance!!
Join Kirsty and Steven for a special evening of Candlelit Yin Yoga and Shiatsu Therapy. 'Yin Yoga and Shiatsu Therapy work to open meridian lines as understood through the TCM principles.
By clearing energetic blockages, we promote the flow of energy to circulate freely throughout the body, cleansing the fluids of the body, and in turn deeper tissues, freeing ourselves from a state of dis-ease. Combining the two, Steven will first teach self Ampuku (hara/abdominal massage) and Kirsty will then lead a yin sequence tailored for shiatsu techniques as both teachers conduct their way through the room providing adjustments, joint mobilisations, and meridian massage to each student.
With the aid of the teacher's hands, eyes, and experience, each student will come to know their practice on a deeper level, have a little light shone on alignment issues they may have been experiencing as well as receive a nourishing hands-on treatment session.
Come stay warm and fluid, the heaters will be on, and there will be tea to finish!
