YIN YOGA

I'm Kirsty Greene, a dedicated Yin Yoga instructor with 13 years of experience. My passion for spirituality and holistic wellbeing has guided my journey, and I'm thrilled to return to my roots with monthly winter Yin Yoga sessions.

For many years, I have explored the world and my personal interest in spirituality, health, and wellbeing. I have studied a number of somatic modalities, soaking up knowledge and understanding while also learning to heal my body after burnout.

I have been studying and guiding individuals in somatic practices for over 20 years, specializing in Yin Yoga and offering classes, workshops, and retreats in Australia, Argentina, and Spain. It is a real joy to share my love of this practice with individuals looking to slow down and experience moments of tenderness with their bodies and breath.

I completed a 200-hour Yin Yoga training with Jo Phee and Joe Barnett in 2012 and began teaching in Narrm/Melbourne. I have also assisted Jo Phee in her 2014 Australian training and attended Sarah Powers' Yin Yoga Level 1 trainings in Thailand.

My experience with burnout, particularly during my years working on the frontline as a nurse, has deeply informed my approach to Yin Yoga. The practice has taught me the importance of slowing down, greeting the body, and inviting the nervous system into a state of rest to heal and maintain vitality.

In addition to my Yin Yoga practice, I am employed as an Art Therapist in a Mental Health and Addiction facility in Narrm/Melbourne, Australia, where I facilitate group and individual sessions exploring themes of wellbeing, spirituality, and identity. My approach is rooted in authenticity, cultural responsiveness, and a commitment to fostering genuine connections.

Yin Yoga is a somatic practice that encourages feeling your way in and out of poses, noting how the movement feels for you inside rather than focusing on the aesthetic look on the outside. I guide sessions that invite individuals to explore their bodies using soft and gentle movement, long holds, and rebounds, combined with breathwork.

Previously, my classes attracted a rich and vibrant community of participants, drawn to the special atmosphere and transformative power of the practice. Join me this winter at Greene Moon Studios for a journey of tenderness and self-discovery through the timeless practice of Yin Yoga.
